Hjerting Strandpark

The path to the beach leads you by a flounder, a wave, and magic light domes after dark.

What You Will See

From the car park, you can follow the approximately 900 metres long gravel path to the beach.

The path covered with light gravel winds its way through the landscape and leads to the play sculpture, Flynderen (the flounder), where people who enjoy climbing can explore the fish. The customised benches along the path invite sitting or lying down for a rest.

From the path, Bølgen can be seen. The sculpture was made after the artist, Rui Chafes, had sat for a long time observing how the coast and the beach meet at this spot. Before the beach, the gravel path turns into a boardwalk which will allow you to make it to the beach dryshod.

On the way to the beach, the terrain alternates between wood, heath, and park. Whichever the season, the beach resort offers many enjoyable experiences. In the summer months, you can enjoy the water and the view from the 60 meter long jetty.

Follow the beach to Strandpromenaden in Hjerting if you want a longer walk.

Tips and tricksTa ud logo

Visit the area after dark. The light domes along the path guide you to the beach, and if you bring a torch, you might see wildlife on the beach in the dark.

Throw a towel over your shoulder if the weather is warm. The waterfront is perfect for paddling.

At low tide, the water depth is 0.5 meters, so please do not jump head first into the water from the jetty. The currents can be very strong.

At the car park, you will find a public toilet
